My Life )

I was born 33 years ago in Lisbon-Portugal.
I w as the youngest of 3 boys that my father (doctor) and my mother
(teacher) had.

I was raised in a small appartment in the center of Lisbon near one
of the biggest hospitals in Portugal where my father worked back
then.
I started going to school when I was 4 years old.
Even then I didn't like it vey much. One thing that I never liked and
perhaps I never will is having to wake early in the morning.
Anyway, I managed to do the primary school and 3 more scholar
years in a r ow until my family decided to move down to Madeira
Island (My parents Land).

I spent 4 years there till last year of highscholl.
I attended the last year of highschool in Lisbon and it took 2 years
to get into the university.

I wanted to major in medicin but I didn't have enough grades. It was
need at least 16.5 of average from 0 to 20 and I had 16,1. It was close
though...

Me when I was a kid
I ended up going to Civil Engeneering. I must say that it was not
a good choice because it never meant very much to me
Me at school when I was a kid

Me sometime ago You must be thinking if I didn't like it why did I keep on going? Well that's a good question that perhaps I will never be able to answer.

The fact is that those classes at university were very theorethical and great part of the areas we studyied were not interesting and with no real use. Futhermore, the majority of our professors were boring and with no sense of the teaching art.

Anyway, I learnt back then some things, I gained, let me put it this way, a gymnastical mind, that was,is and can be useful for me in adapting to new situations and to enlarge the possible solutions I can find for the uncoming problem s of real life.

After finishing university I waited 8 months until I was obliged to go to the army where I spent 8 of the worst months of my life. As someone said when I first got there:" 1 month here is the same as 1 year outside" He was damn ri ght!!!

A few time after the army I joined the staff of a software house (Logiser) and I started to learn some programming languages and apply it to concrete areas. I stayed there almost 2 years and on the second year I worked there as a part-time job be cause in the meantime I had started giving math classes at highscoll.

This experience was not to remember because I had lots of disciplinar problems with those young fellows and so I gave up after the end of the year.

In the mean time one of the Logiser bosses ( Prof. Joao Bento) invited me to work as a multimedia developer and it would be a part time job.

After that I decided to attend another course (computer science). During great part of that period I worked at night in a ciber cafe of Lisbon.
Now i'm on the last year of the course that I intend to finish this year.
